My first and only (thus far) open mic night in 2019!

Who knew a poem I wrote in 2015 (inspired by reflections about Hurricane Katrina), would resonate in 2016/2017 (during the election), boomerang in 2018/2019 (in the spirit of social justice movements), and echo in 2021 (as we endure a global pandemic and prepare for elections)!?

Who knew there would be a yellow butterfly above my head, which would later serve as the backdrop of volume 2 of the my 2021 poetry book!?

Lines reflect life. Steps lead to stories. Keep writing!
